The Wangaratta High School Library's fundamental role is to develop an Information literate community of independent life-long learners through the promotion, teaching and reinforcement of Information Literacy and Thinking Skills.
The Library's other major role is to promotes a love of books and reading through integrated programs and through promotion of activities such as the Premier's reading Challenge, CBCA Book Week and International School Library Month. Through regular timetabled classes in the Library in the junior years of secondary schooling students are exposed to a range of genres of literature and are encouraged to read widely.
The library is open during school hours and provides, organises and distributes resources in support of the school’s teaching programs and students’ personal interests.
In the library we teach students to locate and use information from a wide range of sources: print, non-print and electronic.
