Wangaratta High School provides an innovative and supportive learning environment. We have high expectations of behaviour and achievement and excellent results are achieved by our students.
In 2009 the school celebrated its 100th anniversary, making it one of the oldest state secondary schools in Victoria. Our 100th year marked the completion of Stage 1 of our regeneration building program with our Senior School, a building which is not only innovative in its design as a space for learning, but also as a four star environmentally sustainable building. The school features Australia’s first geothermal climate control system which provides a consistent temperature between 18- 24 degrees all year round. This system will be connected throughout the whole school when the new buildings are complete.
The Performing Arts Centre was completed in September 2009 and Stage 2 which includes a new canteen, Science, Visual Arts and Technology Learning areas are operational for the beginning of the 2011 school year.
We ensure that all students enjoy their learning in a safe, secure enviroment that offers a diverse range of programs to cater for individual needs.
