State Swimming Champions

We can locate 5 swimmers that have taken out a State Championship and won Gold in Melbourne to be the fastest in Victoria.

Rowan Barrow with  7 individual Gold Medals is the standout. She also won 6 Bronze and 4 Silver for a total medal haul of 17. She was also a 4-time State Champion in Triathlon.

Simone Gladigau comes next, collecting 6 individual Gold, plus 2 Silver to make it 8 total.

The only other swimmers to win multiple individual Gold Medals, are Michelle Pullen and Emma Pane with 2 Gold each.

Hannah Pane also won a Gold, plus 3 Bronze. The Pane sisters both won Gold on the same day in 2006.

Lynne Semmler is the only other on record to win an individual Gold. She won the Under 16 100m Breaststroke in 1968 and then finished 6th in Australia despite being 13 years old at the time.
