Wangaratta is a Rural City located just two and a half hours north of Melbourne along the Hume Freeway. Canberra a similar distance to the north. The vibrant CBD has daily rail services between Melbourne and Sydney, stopping at the Wangaratta station.

Wangaratta services the surrounding agricultural area and provides strong recreational, commercial, educational, tourism and health facilities. There are more than 30,000 people living in the Rural City of Wangaratta, approximately 18,800 of whom live in the town. Wangaratta is surrounded by historic and beautiful townships and villages where our students come from such as Boorhaman, Cheshunt, Eldorado, Everton, Glenrowan, Oxley, Milawa, Moyhu, Peechelba, Springhurst, Tarrawingee, Whitfield and Whorouly. Students also come from as far as Yarrawonga, Corowa and Benalla.

Wangaratta is in the epicentre of all that is wonderful about North East Victoria – such fine food and wine; world-class sporting facilities in every discipline, the best skiing in Victoria at Mount Hotham, Mount Buller and Falls Creek nearby. The highly regarded Indigo Epic mountain bike track is nearby. In every direction are stunning rivers, mountains and camping.

Events/Media & Marketing Coordinator

This role is a full-time Education Support role within the 1-3 pay scale. This vacancy is to replace an employee on parental absence and is for a period of seven years or until the employee absent on leave returns to duty at the school, commencing 06/11/2024 until 05/11/2031. Classroom Teacher – English Years  7-12

This role is a full-time ongoing position, commencing 07/10/2024. We are very flexible with regards to the start date and time fraction for this role. Secondary School Nurse – Department of Education Role

This role is a full time position, commencing 23/09/2024. The opportunity exists to join the Wangaratta High School student wellbeing team, which consists of a social worker, counsellors, and a psychologist.
The Secondary School Nursing Program is managed and led by the Department of Education and places nurses within the wellbeing teams of selected secondary schools to support young people.
