Senior Leadership Team

Dave Armstrong

Executive Principal

Dave commenced as Executive Principal in March 2022. He has a teaching background in Outdoor Education, Business Education and Humanities.
He is an experienced education leader, having worked across the independent and international school sectors before joining the Victorian Department of Education. He has worked in the Northern Territory, NSW and overseas.
Prior to commencing at Wangaratta High School Dave was the Principal of Port Vila International School in Vanuatu, and the Deputy Principal of The Scots School Albury immediately prior.
Dave’s two children attend the High School.

John Paola

Assistant Principal

John holds a Bachelor of Education K-12 with a specialization in Middle Schooling and is proud to have been part of the Wangaratta High School community for the last 14 years.

For the past 3 years, John has served as the Engagement Wellbeing Assistant Principal, demonstrating a keen interest in the overall welfare and development of students.

John’s expertise extends to the teaching of Humanities and English, with a particular emphasis on Australian history. His passion for these subjects has not only enriched the academic experiences of his students but has also played a pivotal role in remembering the history of Wangaratta High School.
Beyond his contributions within the school premises, John is a highly valued community member. His involvement in football, music, and various school-related activities reflects his commitment to building strong community ties.

Sheri Parkhouse

Assistant Principal

Sheri has been serving as Assistant Principal at Wangaratta High School since 2023 with a rich teaching background encompassing English, literature, humanities, and agriculture. Her passion for teaching extends beyond traditional classrooms, advocating for alternative educational settings that foster student growth and empowerment. With a keen understanding of diverse learning styles, Sheri is dedicated to creating an inclusive environment where every student thrives. Her commitment to educational innovation, coupled with a nurturing approach, has led to advancements in student achievement.

Kylie Fountain

Business Manager

Kylie commenced at our school in 2015 as a seasoned Business Manager with 30 years experience working in The Department of Education.

In 2012 Kylie completed a Diploma in Management and with her extensive knowledge and experience in overseeing financial planning, budgeting, staffing and resource allocation, ensures our students receive a fulfilling quality education.
